Hello everyone! How is everyone doing? Sorry I haven't been popping in lately, but university finals are here and I'm just taking a little break to write this quick post about what has been going through my head recently. As you might have guessed from the topic header, I am about to purchase my second game for the Nintendo Switch. I recently bought a 35 dollar eshop card to test out whether eshop cards for 3ds and wii U work on the switch. Guess what! They do! Anyways, I'm thinking about buying either Blaster Master 0 and Graceful Explosion Machine, Fast RMX(not buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since I own the Wii U version....I'll buy it if they release more tracks in dlc if that happens), or saving the 35 dollars towards ARMS or Splatoon 2. Any ideas as to what I should do? Also, I was hoping that My Nintendo would have the Switch rewards up by now, but I guess not. Hopefully they're up by the time that E3 rolls around....
Before I give my thoughts on the Wii U, I thought I'd give a sentence or two about the past Nintendo consoles that I've owned. Well, as some of you may know...the first console that I owned was the Nintendo 64. It was a blast to explore 3D environments and experience the then latest in graphic capabilities. The Gamecube reminded me of a lunchbox. I owned a Purple one, and the controller felt so nice to hold, unlike the Nintendo 64. Also some great game for the Gamecube like Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario: TTYD. The Wii was for casuals mostly. I did, however, enjoy the motion control which were implemented into some of the games. The motion controls weren't perfect, but did add some reality to the games. I enjoyed games like the Trauma Center series, Super Paper Mario, and Super Mario Galaxy! Alright, now time for what I thought about the Wii U! Well, I always tend to buy my Nintendo consoles relatively early in their life cycle. There weren't a lot of games at release, and along with the poor idea of calling it the Wii U, which led to many people getting confused, did not help the console's market share. However, the Wii U was absolutely brilliant in that it allowed people to play without needing their tv turned on, or they could let other people watch shows. This helped me a great deal in the early days, as my family only had one television at the time. This was also where we first got fantastic titles like Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X(my first Xenoblade game, I would later buy the first one for 3DS at a later date), and new versions of classics like Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers and Mario Party(which still is quite bad...hopefully they return to formula for the Switch version). We also ended up getting more independent games which increased the library size for the system. We ended up with Axiom Verge, Freedom Planet, and Armillo to name but a few. However, the Wii U wasn't without its problems. Along with relatively few game releases at launch, the Wii U was also prone to long gaps of no games being released for the system later in its life. Also, Nintendo themselves made some weird decisions regarding games...releasing Mario Maker for 3DS and Wii U, and same with Yoshi's Wooly World. Also, the fact that the gamepad was needed to play the system...Mine broke once, and it was tough having the Wii U in the house without a way to play many of the games... Without the market and mind share for the Wii U, the system was ultimately a failure for Nintendo as being a business. However, to everyone that owned one, it was great! The Wii U also marked the time when I would get into streaming(which has been an experience in and of itself). To this day, I still have yet to complete the library of the Wii U's since I lost all my save data about a year ago. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the system, and if you agree or disagree with my viewpoint.
Okay, so I know this has nothing to do with gaming, but I need this off my chest. I am a 22 year old male that has never been on a date, or been in a relationship. I know...I'm such a weird, freak that doesn't know how love works.... This last week I finally go around to asking for the phone number of a girl who is in both my Japanese and French language classes at the local university. I told her that I was having a Nintendo Switch launch party(which she couldn't make because she was off visiting her sister in a different city), I let her play with it on the release day during some free time between classes. You would think everything was going well, right? Well you'd be wrong...This Monday (yesterday), she brought up how it was really fun to get to try the Switch and how she was trying to convince her BOYFRIEND to go fifty percent in with her. Well, I must have reacted because she asked if everything was okay. I lied and said everything was fine(which of course it wasn't). I waited a few minutes and then said I had to go. This brings me to the conclusion of my story. I'm going to try to push my feelings to the side and be just her friend. However, I feel like this new info is going to make having a friendship with her tough and I'm still not in a relationship(nor been on any dates). Life just sucks for me right now.
Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well in our final countdown to the Switch! I'm getting extremely excited and while I should be studying for upcoming university classes, my mind has been elsewhere(if you know what I mean ). I finished paying off the Switch and probably the best Zelda game of all time! Anyways, on to the main point of this thread. I'm not even sure if this is allowed, or not, or even if I'm posting in the right section...Mods please move this or delete this if this is either in the wrong section or not allowed. While I'm not the best streamer, I like to stream stuff and as a special Switchmas day special, I'll be streaming Breath of the Wild at 8 p.m. CST(this Friday). It will be located on my Twitch stream: twitch.tv/nintendofan10039. Again, not sure if this allowed or not, but thought I'd be doing this anyways.
Hello everyone. I thought I'd write a little introduction to say hi to the great people on this forum (and to get 1/10 messages posted on my way to entering the Nintendo Switch giveaway). Anyways, did I let you know that I'm from Canada? I did...cool! I'm from the middle region in a province called Saskatchewan. I'm 22 years old, and finishing up my degree in Computer science at the local university. I have loved Nintendo and their consoles since I was very young. My first console was the N64 and my first handheld was the GBA. I do some streaming on twitch (twitch.tv/nintendofan10039), and also like to play board and card games(along the lines of Settlers of Catan, Power grid, Dominion, etc.). Besides owning all consoles after the N64, I have recently started to collect the Sony line of consoles (although I only have a PS3 and Ps2). My favourite genre of game is probably racing...although depending on how Nintendo uses digitally purchased games, I may not buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. My favourite games include: Mario Party 1-8, Super Smash Brothers and my new favourite series SPLATOON! If you guys want to chat or have any questions just either pm me or post in the comments below and we'll see where we go from there. P.s. I was writing this on a phone, so please excuse any spelling errors. And have a great day!
